Road Worthy of Northeast Ohio connects donated and purchased vehicles with young adults entering the workforce, giving them the reliable transportation they need to start and keep good jobs.

Our mission

Transportation is a workforce barrier.

For many young adults in Northeast Ohio, the path to employment is blocked by practical challenges:

• not having access to a dependable vehicle,
• not being able to afford driver’s education and the licensing process,
• and not having reliable public transportation options that match training and shift schedules.

Road Worthy NEO addresses these barriers by connecting young people to the tools they need to work—starting with reliable transportation and vehicle readiness.

What we do

Road Worthy NEO helps young adults access employment through a focused, vehicle-supported approach. Our work includes:

1. Identifying and preparing dependable vehicles
   • We work with partners to select vehicles that can be made road-worthy.
   • We coordinate repairs and readiness support so recipients receive transportation they can trust.
2. Partnering with workforce and automotive organizations
   • We collaborate with local businesses, training partners, and skilled trades organizations to ensure vehicles are prepared with care and professionalism.
   • Auto training programs benefit by using our vehicles as teaching opportunities. This benefits Road Worthy NEO by reducing or eliminating the labor cost for the repairs.
3. Awarding vehicles as part of a pathway to stability
   • Our vehicle awards are designed to reduce the day-to-day transportation barriers that cause young adults to miss shifts, fall behind in training, or lose employment.
